This article outlines the new Utility Avoidance Permit

On Tuesday, 1st July 2025, all AWNES and Permits to Dig will be superseded by the Utility Avoidance Permit for all business units. The new template has been trialled over 3000 times to date.

During this transition, you may need assistance for access and to set up Authorisation Groups. Please contact paula.watters@balfourbeatty.com for any help needed!

Adding people to your project and setting their UAP permissions

Note: If you are unable to grant someone any Utility Avoidance Permit permissions, this is likely because you do not have the necessary permission and will need to contact your project or region's Utility Coordinator for help.
